John, originally from Long Island, New York, attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and graduated in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

John joined the firm, working part time while attending college, in 1984. After college, he continued with the firm and became a partner January 1, 1991.

John has extensive audit, accounting and tax experience related to industries including real estate, manufacturing, distribution, construction, service and non profits. John also has broad experience in business consulting, business valuations and start up enterprises.

John is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of CPA’s. He is a graduate of Leadership of Greensboro, a past Treasurer of the Make A Wish Foundation and a past Treasurer and Chairman of the Board of the United Arts Council of Greensboro.

John resides in Greensboro with his wife Harriett Lee and in his spare time enjoys boating, water-skiing, golfing and fitness.

Diane, the firm’s Tax Partner since 2000, has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Accounting, concentrating in taxation from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition to her CPA designation, Diane is a Certified Financial Planner and Professional Financial Specialist.

Prior to joining the firm in 1990, Diane worked in the Tax Department with Arthur Andersen, LLP.

Diane’s extensive background in tax and business advisory services includes corporate, partnership, individual and international taxation. She spends substantial time on business transaction planning and consulting. Her knowledge base and experience allows her to coordinate the needs of the business with the needs of the business owners. Diane’s client’s include those in the real estate, healthcare, hospitality and entertainment industries.

Diane is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of CPA’s. She is currently a member of the Carolina Theatre Board of Directors and a past Treasurer. She is an active Chairperson for the Small Business Council of the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, a frequent speaker at chamber events and instrumental in creating and continues to co-chair the annual executive women’s conference, Women’s Executive Connection: The New Face of Business.

Diane and her husband Duke have two children. She is an active member and Sunday School teacher at St. Mark’s Church, a grade parent at her daughter’s school, PTA Treasurer, prior treasurer for Communities in Schools and an athletics coach. She enjoys boating, waterskiing and fitness.

Mike is originally from Laurel, Maryland. He attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and graduated in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

Mike joined the firm in 1995 and became a partner on January 1, 2004. He has an excellent knowledge of audit, accounting, tax, and consulting services. His expertise can be found in many different areas including manufacturing, distribution, real estate investments and development, sports franchises, various service businesses, and high net worth individuals. He is also the coordinator for firm recruiting.

He serves on the Board of Directors for Caldwell Academy, is co-founder of the Wreaths Across America location in Greensboro serving our nations veterans, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the North Carolina Association of CPA’s, and Westover Church. He is a former United Way of Greater Greensboro Loaned Executive and volunteer.

Mike is a sports enthusiast and loves golf, the Commanders, the Orioles, and the Terrapins. His favorite thing to do is vacation at the beach with his wife Kim and their three children.

Dave was born in Kansas City, Missouri and spent his youth growing up in Fort Worth, Texas and Miami, Florida. He moved with his family to Greensboro in 1962 and graduated from Grimsley High School in 1963. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Administration.

Dave was with KPMG Peat Marwick in Greensboro for nine years, serving as audit manager on a variety of large clients. He served in the U.S. Army from 1969 through 1971. In 1980 he started what is now Leeper, Kean & Rumley, L.L.P., Certified Public Accountants.

Dave has had extensive experience in all facets of client service to include audits, tax planning and compliance, business advisory services, management reporting, business mergers, acquisitions and sales, retirement planning, start up enterprises, financing alternatives and negotiations. For the last fourteen years he has provided partner level services to the Firm’s major hospitality client headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina.

Dave is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of CPA’s. He is a graduate of Leadership Greensboro. He was the Treasurer of the Greensboro City Club and the Nat Greene Kiwanis Club. He is a past Chairman of the Board of the United Arts Council of Greensboro, President of the Nat Greene Kiwanis Club, the Institute of Internal Auditors and the Leadership Greensboro Alumni Association. He has been awarded the Greensboro Jaycees Boss of the Year Award and the NACLO Leadership’s Distinguished Leadership Award.

Dave, along with his wife, Marty, has one son, Neal, who is a Commercial Real Estate Broker. He is a participant and spectator of all sports, roller coaster enthusiast, entrepreneur/business junkie, animal lover and is often accused of being a work-a-holic.

Debbie is originally from Jacksonville, NC. She attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and graduated in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

Debbie has excellent knowledge of audit and accounting issues involving manufacturing, distribution, real estate, health care and nonprofit industries. Also, she has worked extensively with employee benefit plans. Before joining the firm in 2002, Debbie was V.P. and Chief Accounting Officer of Diversified Senior Services, Inc., a public company, specializing in the development and management of health care and residential properties.

Debbie is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of CPA’s (“NCACPA”). She is currently a member of the Not-For-Profit Committee, Chair of the Member Connections Committee and current Board member of the Piedmont Chapter of the NCACPA. Previously for the NCACPA, she has served on the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Audit Committee, and is a past President of the Piedmont Chapter of the NCACPA. Debbie is a past Accounting Chair of the United Way of Greater Greensboro Cabinet. She is a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, where she has been a former trustee of the General Endowment Trust Fund and Sunday school teacher.
